I am delighted to announce that the Sussex Martlets are once again holding their annual golf day at Seaford Golf Club on Sunday 28 September 2014.
The Sussex Martlets Golfing Society was formed in about 1920 when little or no cricket was played on Sundays, and the gentleman and amateurs of the day therefore usually played golf instead. Respecting our earliest traditions, our annual golf day has been arranged for the last Sunday in September when most cricketers will have hung up their boots for the season.
Returning to Seaford Golf Club, we will be playing one of the best downland courses in the south of England with great views of the Sussex Downs on one side and the English Channel on the other. Seaford is always a great course to play and presents a good golf challenge situated on the cliffs of Sussex. For more details see www.seafordgolfclub.co.uk.
The format for the day will 18 holes of four ball stableford golf, followed by a carvery lunch. The all inclusive price is £49 per head to include wine and prizes. If you would like to take part, please complete the application form and return it to me.
