I am writing with news of upcoming dates for your diaries as the new cricket season will soon be upon us.

AGM – 9 April – 7.00pm

Our secretary Mark Trubshaw has notified you that the Annual General Meeting will take place on Thursday 9 April at 7pm at the Sussex County Ground at Hove.  I look forward to welcoming members to our official meeting of the year where we deal with a number of matters including our annual accounts and elections to the committee.

We will take the opportunity at this meeting to recognise several of our members for their contributions to the Club in the past year in the giving of our 2014 Awards.

After the official part of the meeting, I hope members will stay on and join me in conversation over supper, usually bangers and mash, for which a modest charge will be levied.

Annual Dinner

It has been decided to hold the Annual Dinner shortly after the cricket season. I have made the booking for the Long Room at Hove for Friday 25 September and I very much hope to welcome you to this event where we will have the opportunity to mark the end of the season in convivial company.

Please note therefore a date you may have had in your diary of 27 March for the Annual Dinner can be released.

Start of the Season

I am very excited at the cricket we will be playing this year.  I have had sight of our prospective fixture list and it looks good.  Our first game is at Eastbourne College on Thursday 7 May and we then host the MCC at Arundel on Sunday 10 May.

Full details of our fixtures will be posted on the website by the end of March.

With my best wishes.
