Early Season Results

The Sussex Martlets early season results are in with an encouraging win against Brighton College in a limited overs match and losses against the MCC on a day with deceptive weather and against Hurstpierpoint College, whose strong side is under the tutelage of Nick Creed and Robin Martin-Jenkins, both Martlets themselves.

Sadly, matches against Eastbourne College, Downside Wanderers and St George’s College, Weybridge have been lost to the weather and other factors. Full match reports are available on the website – clicking the name of the opposition takes you straight to the report. Looking forward to June, there are a number of great fixtures including our annual visits to Newick, Lancing College, Christ’s Hospital and we also host Seaford College at Arundel Castle.  Full details of fixtures are on the 2014 Fixtures page of the website. If you have not booked your place in some of the Martlets cricket fixtures, now is the time to phone or email the Match Managers before our sides become fully booked.

Club Days

The first of our Club Days is almost with us with Martlets Head Raconteur Chris Gray leading us to Goodwood for horse racing on Friday, 13 June.  Full details are available from Chris.

And for those looking for less excitement, there is the Flower Festival at Hurstpierpoint College on Saturday 14 June 2014.  Funds from the day will help Sussex Cancer Care who themselves helped our of our Martlets recently.  Read here for more details. Last but not least, our Illustrious Ex-Chairman Nigel Russell will be leading us to Hove for the T20 Blast between Sussex and Kent on Friday 11 July.  Look out for further details soon or contact Nigel directly to confirm your seats.

That’s all for Now!

I hope you have had a great May and are very much looking forward to June.

Best wishes.
