The Martlets won the toss and elected to field. The Pilgrims got off to a bright start by J Revel (48) and R Antrobus (70) despite some quick and accurate bowling by Charles Davies. Revel was finally caught off G. Falk’s first ball. Another change of bowling saw H. Gane get two quick wickets with his offspin. Antrobus was finally stumped by Adam Davies off the beguiling bowling of Paul Lack as was A. Hafeez who scored an impressive 52. N. Wright bowled a miserly spell and picked up the wicked of J. Presland. The Pilgrims declared on 272 for 6.
The Martlets opened with Andrew Hartridge (25) and Adam Davies (22) who both looked to be in good form. Hartridge was adjudged LBW from J. Revel who took 3 wickets in the match. The wickets of Peter Hartland and Michael Murray fell in quick succession until G. Falk steadied the batting with a fine 22 before holing out to long on. Daniel Smith was in impressive form with a flowing 51 before unluckily being out LBW to J. Gordon who picked up 3 wickets. The Martlets innings finished on 186.
