On the hottest day of the year the Martlets were crying out for the wrong call from the South Wales Hunts skipper. Alas it was a correct call and the inevitable decision of bat first on the M1 at Horsham was chosen by the Hunts.
It was a good start from the visitors with both of the openers getting a 100 as they were near enough 200 off 20 overs. In true Martlets fashion we fought back in the heat and they ended up with 350 off their 50 overs.
The Martlets made an excellent reply but finished 30 runs short with Martlets hero Jordan Shaw scoring 100 and Oscar Jago-Lewis a 100 as well.
Thank you to all that played and it was nice to the sun also turn up for perhaps the first fixture of the year.
