The Over 40s concluded their season with a new fixture against East Sussex League Over 40s at Fletching. Despite the recent weather and an iffy forecast the game was able to commence on time. Losing the toss and being invited to bat on a slow, low pitch , the early batsmen found scoring runs difficult with boundaries hard to come by. However a period of stability followed courtesy of sensible knocks by Michael Murray(on his Over 40s debut), Derek Horsham (39 runs not age) and Deepak Kapadia. Some late enthusiasm from Neil Bushell and Adrian Berendt meant a reasonable total of 137-8 was reached at tea. At this point the iffy forecast proved to be correct and no further play was possible. Plans are in place to try again next year after a very convivial half match.
