Yellowhammers 142/7
On a sunny day at the Castle the Yellowhammers reduced the Martlets to 18 for 5 from just 7 overs and making a game of it was going to be a tall ask but Matt Sewell (still a junior Martlet) scored an excellent 51 and Mark Trubshaw 35 not out to get us to a total of 141 all out. Not enough at Arundel surely!
A fine bowling and fielding effort from the Martlets meant the Yellowhammers finally made 142 but with 7 wickets down. A few more runs and maybe it would have been a closer finish. A great spell of bowling from Scott Sharma kept things tight from one end while the other bowlers tried their best and defended a low total admirably well.
The flags of both sides were lowered to half mast in memory of Sandy Ross.
